Please Help Us Support Rescued “Bait Dog”
December 19, 2009
I’m stepping away from writing about real estate today to announce a special fundraising event we’re hosting for a sweet dog named Turtle who was rescued earlier this week. Turtle has suffered untold cruelty and we hope that this little event will help her have a happy and healthy life ahead.
We’re hosting a spinning “party” at Spynergy Cycling Studio in Wellesley on Saturday, January 16 from 11am-12pm. Please come join us, enjoy some great music, get a terrific spin workout, and help support this sweet dog.
As you may have read earlier this week in the Boston Globe, a severely injured and unconscious dog was discovered by the side of the road in Hyde Park. She is believed to have been a “bait dog”, used to test the strength of other dogs in dog fighting.
Fortunately a passerby found her and helped get her the care she needed. But the dog, now named Turtle, will have a long road ahead. She will need to be quarantined for six months due to her bite injuries, and will need rehabilitation before she can be adopted into a home.
100 percent of the spin event proceeds will be donated directly to the Animal Rescue League for Turtle’s care. Spynergy Cycling Studio has generously donated use of its spinning studio and it’s instructor’s time for this event.
To buy a seat in our spin class to support Turtle, please sign up at www.arlboston.org/spynergy or send a $20 check made out to the Animal Rescue League of Boston and mail it to:
Hallmark Sotheby’s International Realty
Attn: Fund for Turtle Dog
11 Grove Street

We’re also selling “I Heart Turtle Dog” t-shirts for $15.00 to raise additional funds for the shelter. These were generously donated by Merry Perry Design of Quincy. (Merry is a fantastic designer and a big supporter of animal protection. She’s also a volunteer with Caring Canines.) T-shirts are $15.00. 100% of the proceeds will go directly to the Animal Rescue League.
Please spread the word about this fundraising event to your friends and family.
Thank you so much!!!
